About Taller Jesusa
[ Español ]
Taller Ediciones Jesusa was founded in the year 1985 by José and Jesusa Nuño, with the idea of researching on the scope of
silkscreen as graphic technique in painting.
Throughout the years, Taller Jesusa has achieved complex works which are just not possible through conventional silkscreen printing, this is because the completion of each of our works involves the collaborative work between us and the original artist.
Each work we create, is approached in a different way, depending on who is the artist that produced it. At Taller Jesusa, the use of conventional silkscreen is enriched with elements from other graphic techniques such as lithography, colorography, aquatint, stencil and pochoir. We research and experiment in order to identify everything that is necessary to pursue a specific work obtaining the best results..
Over the course of its 25 year history, Taller Ediciones Jesusa has worked with renouned professional artists like
Tamayo,
Felguerez,
Goeritz,
Friedeberg,
Macotela,
Cortazar and Bank, amongst others.
In total, twenty-one individual artists have worked directly with, and their work has been processed by, Taller Jesusa.
Taller Ediciones Jesusa presents a
collection that brings together the work these artists have done throughout the years. The main premise in this exhibition, is the fact that silkscreen and digital graphic arts show themselves at a key moment in the search for new artistic alternatives, when enriched by the use of other graphic techniques.
At Taller Jesusa, each work is carefully and professionally created in our workshop meeting the highest international standards. The
collection consists today of close to 70 works by 21 different artists, as well as folders including poems that are an important part in this creative process, which individually show an overview of the years of fruitful activity of the workshop. As a result, Taller Jesusa has reached well deserved reputation for its achievements and innovations in this field within Contemporary Mexican painting.
The trajectory of Taller Jesusa has been of major importance, outside of Mexico as well. Our works has been exhibited in different parts of the world like Portugal, France, Italy, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica and at the international book fair in Frankfurt
